Cetinje

In a picturesque valley, surrounded by limestone mountains, there is a town of Cetinje, founded in the 13th century. At the end of the Middle Ages it became the political and later the spiritual capital of Montenegro, after the transition the residence of the metropolitan to the monastery of Cetinje.

In the middle of the last century the town unfairly lost its importance as a resort. However, its rich historical past and rapid development when it was the capital of the Principality made it a real museum city. For all citizens of this small state Cetinje is a true soul of Montenegro.
