Negushi

The village of Negushi (Njeguši in Montenegrin) is a quiet, tranquil place situated on the slope of Mount Lovćen at 900 metres above sea level in the municipality of Cetinje.

Nowadays it has grown into a real tourist settlement with no more than 50 houses and a population of approximately 200 people. The village is known for the production of the famous throughout Montenegrin Prsut, as well as the well-known homemade cheese and natural mountain honey. Here you can also see how the meat is made, buy it as a souvenir or taste the prsut in the local konobas (homemade restaurants). Nature has created ideal conditions for prsut production - cool climate and mountain air mixed with sea air. That is what gives a unique flavour to the prsut of Neguše.
