Forte Mare (Sea Fortress) is a recognisable symbol of a resort of Herceg Novi. The fortress was built by the Bosnian King Tvrtko I in 1382. It was under the reconstruction until the 17th century, and the last restoration was completed in the 19th century. Today, the fortress is used as an arena for music events and open-air cinema.
