Krupachko Lake

City

Krupachko Lake is an artificial lake in the Niksic valley, in the north-western part of Montenegro. The lake was created with an artificial embankment and today it is the largest freshwater reservoir in this Montenegrin region. The embankment was built in the mouth of a mountain river, which makes its rapid flow a little bit slower. The artificial embankment is three kilometres long. The lake is filled with a number of mountain streams and springs, making the water in the artificial reservoir crystal clear and cool year-round.

The lake is rich in fish varieties, including rare species. Fishing competitions are held here quite regularly. The lake also has a promenade and beaches.
