Podgorica

The capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, combines an abundance of nature and evidence of many historical events. Here are preserved ancient fortresses, temples, mosques and sights. This is the largest city of Montenegro with a population of about 200 thousand people.

Podgorica can be seen as a starting point to travel throughout Montenegro. It will take you only half an hour to drive to Skadar Lake; if the city is very hot you can relax in the mountains in the national parks Durmitor and Prokletje; on a sunny day you will need less than an hour to get to the coast, where you can swim in the sea and taste delicious fish dishes in a restaurant on the beach.

In the center of Podgorica, you can find many good restaurants and bars, and on the other side of the Moraca River in the new Business District many different trendy establishments have been opened recently. Podgorica is a place where you can eat a really nice pizza or fresh seafood dishes and drink the best coffee. In addition to shopping in the city center, you can also visit the shopping centers "Delta City", "Mall of Montenegro" and "Capital Plaza" or go to the local market and enjoy a wide choice of fruits, vegetables, olives, honey and many other things produced in Montenegro.
